Iargo Springs

Scenic Byway & Landmarks

About 18 miles west of Oscoda, the Iargo Springs Interpretive Site has a long history of recreational use, starting before white settlers came to the region. In the 1920s and 1930s, the springs attracted visitors from the bluff. Today the site is an outdoor education area where visitors are treated to displays explaining history, geology, and plant and animal life of the area. A 30-foot observation deck offers stunning views of the Au Sable River valley. Part of the River Road National Scenic Byway.
