Highbanks Trail
Hiking & TrailsStrung along the towering bluffs above the Au Sable River, the Highbanks Trail is a skiing and hiking route developed through the Corsair Ski Council and the Huron National Forest. This 7-mile linear trail offers some of the most dramatic views of the Au Sable River and Cooke Dam Pond. Access areas and parking at Iargo Springs, Lumberman's Monument, and Sid Town. Recognized as a 2024 Pure Michigan Trail. During the summer, hikers may see bald eagles that nest in the area. The U.S. Forest Service maintains 17 primitive campsites and a boat launch at Sawmill Point.
