The walk
Down three hundred steps, into cedar and spring water.
Iargo Springs sits on a steep bluff above the Au Sable, a short turn off the River Road National Scenic Byway. A long cedar staircase drops you out of the hardwoods and into a cool, wet world of boardwalks, moss, and water that has been rising here for millennia.
After rain the planks shine like river stones. The marsh opens from a horseshoe overlook — cattails, purple loosestrife, a far wall of pine. Below, the springs themselves sheet over a timber crib dam, then braid through fallen logs and pebble runs so clear you can count every stone.
This film follows that descent: stairs, wet boardwalk, overlook, and the quiet work of water.
